President Zelensky revealed that the country can restore peace in Ukraine

(Dan Tri) – President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that China can help restore peace to Ukraine after more than two years of conflict with Russia.

`China can really help restore fair peace to Ukraine and stability in international relations,` President Zelensky said in a speech on the evening of April 16.

Mr. Zelensky added that Ukraine is carefully preparing for the first global peace summit in Switzerland next June and efforts are being made to ensure the conference will be effective.

Mr. Zelenskyy thanked world leaders for expressing their willingness to participate in the summit.

The Ukrainian leader also said he was especially grateful to German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz for `signals from Beijing`.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 16 received a German delegation led by Prime Minister Olaf Scholz in Beijing.

Prime Minister Scholz asked President Xi Jinping to help achieve just peace in Ukraine.

China has so far affirmed its neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Last February, Beijing issued a 12-point peace proposal to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Beijing’s proposal received support from Russia, but was not highly appreciated by Ukraine and the West.

Switzerland on April 10 confirmed that it will host a global peace summit on the Russia-Ukraine war in June at the Burgenstock resort in Nidwalden state.

Participating countries are expected to discuss Ukraine’s 10-point peace formula and agree on a common document on what needs to be done to end the fighting.

In February, Switzerland announced plans to host a high-level peace conference on the situation in Ukraine in the summer.

Kiev’s peace plan calls for Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory, as well as establish a court to prosecute top Russian officials for waging the war.

Late last month, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kiev could negotiate with Russia after the peace summit in Switzerland.

Mr. Kuleba emphasized that the parties participating in the summit will be free to choose the items they want to implement related to the Russia-Ukraine war, such as addressing food or energy security issues or

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in early March that Moscow would not attend the summit hosted by Switzerland even if invited.
