Mr. Trump warned Republicans about the risk of losing the election

(Dan Tri) – Former US President Donald Trump, candidate for the Republican Party, called on the party to have a less rigid approach on the issue of abortion rights, stating that this could be the factor that caused him to lose in the election.

Mr. Trump has warned Republicans against taking too hard a stance on abortion rights ahead of November’s election, warning that the issue could cost Republicans the presidency.

In a post on the social network Truth Social on the afternoon of April 8, Mr. Trump specifically mentioned Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

`Senator Lindsey Graham is doing a great disservice to the Republican party and our country. The radical left Democrats… love this issue (abortion rights) and they want to keep it going as long as the party

Previously, Mr. Trump said that the issue of abortion rights should be left to each state to decide through votes or laws.

Responding to Mr. Trump’s comments, Mr. Graham declared: `I will continue to advocate that there should be a minimum national standard to limit abortion at 15 weeks because then the child is capable of feeling pain,

Mr. Trump then warned: `Republicans could lose the election over this issue and people like Lindsey Graham are giving Democrats the opportunity to (control) the House, the Senate and even the presidency.`

In June 2022, the US Supreme Court issued a historic ruling, eliminating abortion rights throughout the United States.

This is something conservatives in the Republican party have been advocating for a long time.

However, this ruling is also a `double-edged sword`, turning abortion rights into a political issue in US elections.

In addition, all seven state abortion rights votes from 2022 to present – including in conservative states like Ohio, Kansas and Kentucky – have resulted in victories for supporters.

Experts say the Democratic Party will almost certainly use the issue of abortion to attract voters.

In recent times, Mr. Trump has also sought to distance himself from conservatives on the issue of abortion when he refused to support a large-scale abortion ban across the United States.

According to the former President’s argument, the Republican Party should not tie itself to policies that are not supported by the majority of people.
